I am known to move up and down I-35 every couple of years or so. I grew up in Belton, Texas (about 45 minutes north of Austin), and then attended Texas State University in San Marcos. After attending Oklahoma City University School of Law, I became the first lawyer in my family.
I began my law career in immigration removal defense in Dallas and after a couple of years, my career finally landed me in Austin, where I specialized in the intersection of criminal and immigration law. I primarily presented at CLEs (Continuing Legal Education) and provided memos for criminal defense attorneys.
Lecturing and briefing made me miss the courtroom and client interactions. Entering the family law world gave me precisely what I wanted – litigation and directly helping people. It may have taken me a while, but I’m happy to be here. This time I’ll stay put.
